For the second year running, Royal Bank of Canada’s Avion Rewards has been named Loyalty Program of the Year (Americas) at the prestigious International Loyalty Awards.

The International Loyalty Awards, now in their 13th year, recognize excellence and innovation in customer loyalty programs globally. Entries from across North, Central and South America vied for the coveted Americas regional prize, with Avion Rewards coming out on top once again.

“To be recognized for two consecutive years amongst leading global brands is another proud milestone,” said Neil McLaughlin, Group Head of Personal & Commercial Banking at RBC. “We’ve built a compelling platform that connects retailers with millions of Canadians and delivers distinctive benefits every day.”

Avion Rewards stood out for its comprehensive loyalty offering spanning travel, retail, and tailored experiences. Its market-leading travel rewards program is complemented by partnerships with over 2,400 retailers across Canada.

The program is open to all Canadians regardless of where they bank, providing flexibility to earn and redeem rewards across a wide range of merchants and product categories. Advanced integration also allows members to pay with their Avion points at partners.

“This honour is a testament to our team’s hard work and the strength of our merchant network,” said Niranjan Vivekanandan, SVP and Head of Loyalty & Merchant Solutions at RBC. “We look forward to innovating further to deliver an unmatched loyalty experience.”

An independent judging panel of over 25 loyalty experts assessed programs on metrics such as value proposition, customer engagement, technology integration and business results.

Avion Rewards’ win highlights RBC’s commitment to continuously enhancing its rewards ecosystem. The bank aims to provide Canadians with compelling ways to earn and redeem points seamlessly as part of their everyday shopping journeys.
