Air Canada enhances economy class with free premium snacks, expanded beer and wine service through 2024

Key Takeaways

    • Air Canada offers complimentary premium snacks on all flights.
    • Free beer and wine available on domestic and U.S. routes.
    • Largest alcoholic beverage menu among North American airlines.

Air Canada announced today it is introducing free premium snacks on all flights, and expanding its complimentary beer and wine offering to flights within Canada and the U.S. through the end of 2024.

The new snack options include Canadian brands TWIGZ buttery herb and garlic pretzels, and Leclerc’s Célébration milk chocolate cookies. All economy class passengers will receive one of these snacks gratis.

Additionally, economy travellers on domestic and transborder routes can now enjoy complimentary beer and wine service during their journey. A selection of craft beers like Hop Valley and Creemore Springs Premium Lager will be available, along with Molson Canadian, Coors Light, and French red and white wines from Paul Mas.

For those preferring cocktails, Air Canada is offering a range of $5 spirits, including Baileys, Canadian Club rye, Bacardi rum, Bombay Sapphire gin, Smirnoff vodka, Tromba tequila and Campari. This represents the largest alcoholic beverage menu of any North American airline.

The new snack and drink offerings build on Air Canada’s recent overhaul of its onboard food and beverage program. The airline introduced over 100 new rotating seasonal recipes focused on bigger, bolder flavours.

Its refreshed buy-on-board Bistro menu also provides the most extensive fresh meal options of any North American carrier. And Air Canada remains the only airline on the continent offering fresh hot kids’ meals for purchase.

“We’re proud to spotlight these outstanding Canadian snack brands and enhance the economy experience with complimentary beer, wine and premium spirits,” said Scott O’Leary, Air Canada’s Vice President of Loyalty and Product.

“This continues our culinary elevation to make travel more enjoyable for all customers through diverse menu options catering to an array of dietary needs and tastes.”

O’Leary noted the changes reflect Air Canada’s commitment to supporting Canadian companies and showcasing homegrown products to passengers from around the world.

The enhanced food and beverage service is available immediately across Air Canada’s global network. Age restrictions and safety policies regarding alcohol service will continue to apply.
